This 9/16″ galvanized wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a 6×37 class construction designed for superior flexibility and fatigue resistance. Commonly used for hoisting, suspension systems, winch lines, and other dynamic lifting applications, this wire rope performs exceptionally well where repeated bending and long service life are critical.
The 6×37 class is favored for applications that require greater flexibility than traditional 6×19 wire rope. Its construction allows the rope to bend repeatedly around sheaves and drums while resisting fatigue-related wear. While it offers less abrasion resistance than a 6×19 construction, it provides significantly improved flexibility and service life in dynamic operating environments.
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and dependable load-carrying performance.
The class of this wire rope is 6×37. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 27-49 wires making up each strand. The actual construction supplied is 6×36. If you require a different construction, please contact our team.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater support than fiber core alternatives, improving crushing resistance, load stability, and performance in demanding applications. IWRC wire rope is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
This wire rope features a hot-dip drawn galvanized finish that delivers enhanced corrosion resistance for outdoor and moisture-prone environments. Unlike standard galvanization methods that can reduce rope strength, the drawn galvanizing process maintains the rope’s original breaking strength while improving durability and service life.
The drawn galvanizing process also improves ductility and creates a coating that is more resistant to cracking, flaking, and wear than typical electro-galvanized finishes.
Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
Yes. If your combined order will exceed the minimum quantity requirement but you need shorter individual lengths, please call our team to place your order. One of our product experts will be happy to assist.
