This 19×19 compacted rotation-resistant wire rope is engineered for lifting and hoisting applications where minimizing load rotation is critical. Manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and featuring an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), this rope combines excellent strength, flexibility, and durability with enhanced resistance to crushing, abrasion, and wear.
During the manufacturing process, the strands are drawn through a series of compacting dies and rollers that reduce the rope diameter and smooth the outer surface. This compacted construction increases strength compared to a non-compacted 19×19 rope of the same diameter while also improving spooling performance.
The smoother profile reduces surface wear and improves resistance to crushing and abrasion, helping extend the service life of the wire rope in demanding operating conditions.
The 19×19 construction is specifically designed to reduce rope rotation under load. The inner strands are laid in the opposite direction of the outer strands, allowing rotational forces to counteract one another. This makes the rope particularly effective for hoisting unguided loads and applications where load spin can affect safety and performance.
With more than 10 outer strands, this rope is classified as a Category 2 Rotation-Resistant Wire Rope, providing greater rotation resistance than Category 3 constructions such as 8×19 spin-resistant wire rope.
This wire rope is manufactured from EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel), providing approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope for increased breaking strength and performance.
The 19×19 construction consists of 19 outer strands, with each strand containing approximately 15-26 individual wires. This design delivers a combination of flexibility, handling ease, and rotation resistance.
The bright steel finish is uncoated and protected with an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both the internal and external wires. This lubrication helps reduce friction, minimize internal wear, and provide basic protection against moisture and corrosion.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) delivers superior support compared to fiber core constructions. It provides increased resistance to crushing, improved dimensional stability under load, and better performance in elevated temperature environments. Typical operating temperatures range from -40F (-40C) to 400F (204C).
Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
Yes. If your combined order will exceed the minimum quantity requirement but you need shorter individual lengths, please call our team to place your order. One of our product experts will be happy to assist.
