This 7/16″ galvanized wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a versatile 6×19 class construction known for its combination of flexibility and abrasion resistance. Commonly used for hoisting, suspension systems, winch lines, and general rigging applications, this wire rope delivers dependable performance in both indoor and outdoor environments where strength and durability are essential.
The 6×19 class offers greater abrasion resistance than a comparable 6×37 wire rope, making it well-suited for applications involving frequent contact with drums, sheaves, and other wear surfaces. While slightly less flexible than 6×37 constructions, it provides excellent durability and service life for general-purpose lifting and pulling operations.
The hot-dip drawn galvanized finish adds superior protection against corrosion while maintaining the rope’s original strength, making it an excellent choice for outdoor, marine-adjacent, and high-moisture environments.
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in increased breaking strength and dependable load-handling performance.
The class of this wire rope is 6×19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 15-26 wires making up each strand. This construction creates an ideal balance of strength, wear resistance, and flexibility.
Unlike standard galvanization methods that can reduce breaking strength, the hot-dip drawn galvanizing process maintains the rope’s full strength while providing enhanced corrosion resistance. This finish also improves ductility and helps prevent coating flaking or cracking during use.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater support than fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope offers superior crush resistance, improved load stability, and dependable operation in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
Yes. If your combined order will exceed the minimum quantity requirement but you need shorter individual lengths, please call our team to place your order. One of our product experts will be happy to assist.
