This 5/8″ 304 stainless steel wire rope features a versatile 6×19 construction that balances flexibility, abrasion resistance, and corrosion protection. Commonly used for lifting, hoisting, winch lines, suspension systems, and general rigging applications, this wire rope offers greater corrosion resistance than galvanized steel while maintaining higher strength and affordability than 316 stainless steel. It’s an excellent choice for projects that require dependable rust protection without the premium cost of marine-grade stainless.
The 6×19 class is one of the most widely used wire rope constructions due to its combination of durability and flexibility. Compared to 6×37 wire rope, the 6×19 construction provides superior abrasion resistance when operating over drums, sheaves, and other contact surfaces. While slightly less flexible than a 6×37 rope, it delivers excellent performance in demanding industrial, commercial, and outdoor applications.
Type 304 stainless steel offers strong corrosion resistance in most environments and is often selected when additional strength and cost savings are preferred over the maximum corrosion protection offered by 316 stainless steel.
The class of this wire rope is 6×19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope’s construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 15-26 wires making up each strand. This design creates an ideal balance between flexibility, strength, and abrasion resistance.
Compared to a 6×37 wire rope, the 6×19 construction offers greater resistance to wear and abrasion, making it well-suited for applications involving repeated contact with sheaves, drums, and other working surfaces.
Type 304 stainless steel provides excellent resistance to rust and corrosion while maintaining higher tensile strength than 316 stainless steel. It is commonly used in industrial, architectural, and outdoor applications where long-term corrosion protection is required.

Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
