Simpson Strong-Tie GARC Glued-In-Rod Adhesive Retaining Caps help make threaded rod adhesive installations cleaner and easier by limiting adhesive flow from the drilled hole while centering the threaded rod for proper alignment. Designed for glued-in-rod applications with Simpson Strong-Tie Timber-SET anchoring adhesive and RECC threaded rod end caps, these plastic retaining caps are sized for holes drilled with wood drill bits and are color-coded by rod diameter for easy identification. The GARC cap is required for Timber-SET installations performed in compliance with the code report.

Installation

Drill the hole to the proper diameter and depth for the selected rod size, clean the hole as required, dispense Simpson Strong-Tie Timber-SET adhesive, and insert the threaded rod with the GARC cap positioned to retain adhesive and help center the rod. Additional support may be required during cure time depending on the level of alignment precision needed. Always follow Simpson Strong-Tie installation instructions, adhesive requirements, cure times, and applicable code report details for the selected GARC model.
