Simpson Strong-Tie RECC Rod End Centering Caps help keep threaded rods properly aligned at the back of drilled holes in glued-in-rod anchoring applications. Designed for use with Simpson Strong-Tie Timber-SET anchoring adhesive and GARC glued-in-rod adhesive retaining caps, these plastic centering caps allow adhesive to flow around the cap as the rod is pushed into place. The RECC series is color-coded by rod diameter and is required for Timber-SET installations performed in compliance with the code report.

Installation

Select the RECC cap that matches the required rod diameter and drilled hole size. Place the centering cap on the end of the threaded rod, then insert the rod into the adhesive-filled hole with the compatible GARC adhesive retaining cap. As the rod is pushed to the back of the hole, the RECC cap centers the rod while allowing adhesive to flow around it. Always follow Simpson Strong-Tie Timber-SET installation instructions and the applicable code report requirements for the selected rod, hole diameter, and anchoring application.
