Simpson Strong-Tie Mechanically Galvanized Titen HD Concrete Screw Anchors provide code-listed anchoring strength for interior and exterior applications. Designed for use in cracked and uncracked concrete, as well as uncracked masonry, these heavy-duty screw anchors offer a fast, reliable alternative to traditional expansion anchors. Unlike wedge anchors, Titen HD anchors install by drilling a pilot hole and driving the anchor directly into place, with no nut-and-washer assembly, no hammering-in expansion clip, and no secondary setting step required. Their mechanically galvanized finish provides added corrosion resistance for demanding jobs where dependable holding power matters.
Install the Titen HD anchor by drilling the proper pilot hole, cleaning the hole of dust and debris, and driving the anchor through the fixture into the base material until the head is seated. Compared to a wedge anchor, installation is faster and more straightforward because the anchor cuts its own threads into the concrete and does not require expansion setting. Always follow Simpson Strong-Tie installation instructions, required embedment, edge distance, spacing, and applicable ICC-ES report requirements for the selected size.
