5/8″ 6×19 Wire Rope Cable | Bright Steel

This 5/8″ bright steel wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a versatile 6×19 class construction. Designed to balance abrasion resistance with flexibility, this wire rope performs well in lifting, hoisting, winching, suspension, and general rigging applications. Its durable design makes it a dependable choice for industrial, construction, and material-handling environments.

General-Purpose Steel Cable for Hoisting, Rigging & Winch Applications

The 6×19 class is one of the most widely used wire rope constructions due to its combination of strength, flexibility, and wear resistance. Compared to a 6×37 wire rope, the 6×19 construction offers greater abrasion resistance and durability when operating over drums, sheaves, and other contact surfaces. While slightly less flexible than a 6×37 rope, it provides excellent performance in demanding, high-wear applications.

6×19 Wire Rope Configuration

This wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade (Extra Improved Plow Steel) steel. EIPS wire rope provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in increased breaking strength and dependable performance under heavy loads.

The class of this wire rope is 6×19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 15-26 wires within each strand. This construction creates an effective balance between flexibility and abrasion resistance.

Bright Finish & IWRC Construction

This rope features a bright steel finish protected with A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both internal and external wires. The lubricant reduces internal friction, helps minimize wear, and provides basic protection against moisture and corrosion.

The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) offers superior support compared to fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope provides improved crush resistance, maintains rope shape under load, and performs reliably in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
