This 7/16″ 19×7 rotation-resistant wire rope is engineered to minimize load rotation during lifting operations. Its specialized construction features inner strands laid in the opposite direction of the outer strands, allowing rotational forces to counteract one another while under load. This design makes it particularly effective for hoisting unguided loads with single-part line systems where load control and stability are critical.
The 19×7 construction combines excellent flexibility with significant rotation resistance, making it a preferred choice for crane operations, lifting systems, and other applications where uncontrolled load spin can create safety concerns. With more than 10 outer strands, this rope is classified as a Category 2 Rotation-Resistant Rope, providing greater resistance to rotation than Category 3 constructions such as 8×19 wire rope.
The increased strand count also improves flexibility and handling characteristics, allowing the rope to perform well in demanding lifting environments while maintaining load stability.
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in increased breaking strength and dependable performance under heavy loads.
The class of this wire rope is 19×7. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of 19 strands surrounding the core, with approximately 3-14 wires making up each strand. This configuration creates a flexible rope with excellent rotation-resistant characteristics for lifting and hoisting applications.
This rope features a bright steel finish protected with A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both internal and external wires. The lubricant helps reduce friction, minimize internal wear, and provide basic protection against moisture and corrosion.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater support than fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope offers superior crush resistance, improved load stability, and dependable operation in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
