The 2-5/16″ Bolt-On / Weld-On D-Ring is designed for versatility and strength, offering the flexibility to bolt or weld it in place depending on your setup. With a 12,000 lb break strength and folding design, it’s a dependable anchor point for trailers, haulers, and cargo tie-down systems.
When choosing a D-ring, match it to your cargo weight and tie-down system. Per FMCSA CFR49 Sections 393.102104, anchor points must be as strong as or stronger than the tie-downs they support. Confirm compatibility with your chains or ratchet straps before installation.
This D-ring may be installed by welding or bolting, depending on the application. Installation should be performed by a qualified professional using appropriate materials and methods. For weld-on installation, follow accepted welding practices and apply a corrosion-resistant finish after welding. For bolt-on installation, fasteners must pass completely through the mounting surface and should be used with reinforcement such as fender washers or backing plates, along with locking nuts or threadlocker. If additional strength is required, 3/8″ SAE J429 Grade 8 carriage bolts or equivalent hardware may be used.
Performance and break strength depend on installation method, mounting surface, and hardware used. Mounting hardware is not included. The installer and end user are responsible for determining suitability for the intended application and ensuring proper installation and inspection.
Note: Not rated for overhead lifting.
Warning: Tie Down Hardware
Read and follow all provided instructions, guidelines, and maintenance recommendations before use.
Never exceed the maximum load capacity.
Inspect before each use for signs of deformation, corrosion, and wear, such as cuts or fraying on tie down straps or ropes. If damaged, discard and replace.
When installing, make sure that the tie down hardware is securely attached to a stable surface using appropriate hardware. For complex installations or applications requiring structural integrity, work with a qualified professional to ensure safety.
Only use tie down hardware that is appropriately-rated for the weight and size of your load.
Be careful when handling tie down hardware to prevent strains or injuries. For heavy or awkward loads, seek assistance.
Protect tie downs from potential hazards, such as sharp edges or abrasive surfaces that may damage tie down straps or ropes.
Store in a dry, clean, and dark location with regulated temperatures to extend product longevity.
Keep children and pets away from tie down hardware while being installed / in use.
