This 3/8″ 8×19 spin-resistant wire rope is engineered to reduce rope rotation while under load, making it a reliable choice for hoisting unguided loads with single-part or multi-part line systems. Constructed from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and featuring a bright steel finish with an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), this rope provides excellent strength, durability, and operational stability for demanding lifting applications.
The 8×19 construction is designed with inner strands laid in the opposite direction of the outer strands, helping counteract rotational forces that naturally occur during lifting operations. Classified as a Category 3 Rotation-Resistant Rope, it offers limited resistance to rotation while maintaining greater durability than many Category 2 rotation-resistant ropes. This balance of strength and stability makes it well-suited for cranes, hoists, and lifting systems handling free-hanging loads.
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) offers approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, providing improved break strength and dependable load-handling performance.
The class of this wire rope is 8×19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, indicating eight outer strands with approximately 15-26 wires per strand. The actual construction supplied is 8×25, providing an excellent combination of strength, flexibility, and resistance to rotation.
This wire rope features a bright steel finish treated with an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant. The lubricant reduces internal friction, helps minimize wear, and provides basic protection against moisture and corrosion. Lubrication is applied to both internal and external wires for enhanced service life.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) increases crushing resistance, improves structural stability, and supports heavy loads. It is well-suited for demanding applications and can typically operate in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
