Proper Installation Matters

A long-standing rigging rule to remember when installing wire rope clips is:

“Never saddle a dead horse.”

This means the saddle portion of the wire rope clip should always be installed on the live end (load-bearing side) of the wire rope, while the U-bolt is installed on the dead end (terminated side). Incorrect installation can significantly reduce the effectiveness of the termination.
