5/16″ 6×37 Wire Rope Cable | Bright Steel

This 5/16″ bright steel wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a 6×37 class construction with an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC). Known for its superior flexibility and fatigue resistance, 6×37 wire rope is a versatile solution for hoisting, suspension systems, winch lines, lifting operations, and other applications that require repeated bending and movement.

Flexible Wire Rope for Hoisting, Winching & Dynamic Loads

The 6×37 class is designed for applications where flexibility is critical. Compared to 6×19 wire rope, it bends more easily and withstands repeated flexing with greater fatigue resistance, making it ideal for high-cycle lifting and rigging systems. While it offers slightly less abrasion resistance than a 6×19 construction, it excels in applications involving frequent movement and dynamic loading.

6×37 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved break strength and dependable performance under load.

The class of this wire rope is 6×37. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, indicating six outer strands with approximately 27-49 wires per strand. The actual construction supplied is 6×36. If you require a different construction, please contact our team.

Finish & Core

This wire rope features a bright steel finish, meaning it is uncoated and protected with an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant. The lubricant helps reduce internal friction, minimizes wear, and provides basic moisture and corrosion resistance. Lubrication is applied to both internal and external wires for enhanced service life.

The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater support than a fiber core, increasing crushing resistance, maintaining rope stability under load, and improving durability in demanding applications. Typical operating temperatures range from -40F to 400F.
