5/32″ 7×19 Aircraft Cable | 304 Stainless

This 5/32″ type 304 stainless steel 7×19 aircraft cable is a flexible, corrosion-resistant cable designed for applications such as deck railing systems, pulleys, winches, exercise equipment, and general utility use. The high strand count and smaller wire construction provide excellent flexibility and fatigue resistance, making it easy to work with while delivering long service life.

Note: Despite the name, aircraft cable is not intended for aircraft use. Before using this cable for critical overhead lifting applications, consult a qualified rigging professional.

Flexible Stainless Steel Cable for Railings, Pulleys & Winches

The 7×19 construction is one of the most flexible cable designs available, allowing the cable to bend easily around pulleys, sheaves, and fittings while resisting fatigue caused by repeated movement. Type 304 stainless steel offers excellent corrosion resistance and is a popular choice for outdoor and indoor applications where protection against rust is important.

How Does Aircraft Cable Differ From Wire Rope?

Aircraft cable is generally available in diameters up to 3/8″, while traditional wire rope can be manufactured in diameters exceeding 2″. Aircraft cable is designed to prioritize flexibility and handling characteristics, making it a preferred choice for many light- to medium-duty applications.

7×19 Steel Cable Configuration

This aircraft cable is manufactured from type 304 stainless steel. Compared to galvanized cable, type 304 stainless offers enhanced corrosion resistance while maintaining excellent strength. Although type 316 stainless steel provides even greater corrosion protection, type 304 is generally stronger and more cost-effective, making it an excellent choice for most environments where rust resistance is required.

The class of this cable is 7×19. These numbers nominally refer to the cable construction and indicate seven total strands, including the core strand, with approximately 15-26 wires within each strand. Six outer strands are wrapped around a central core strand to create a highly flexible and fatigue-resistant cable.

Accessories & More

Complete your wire rope assembly with compatible wire rope fittings and rigging hardware. We carry a variety of type 304 stainless steel accessories, including wire rope clips and wire rope thimbles, to help you create a secure and reliable assembly. For best results, use type 304 stainless steel components throughout your system, as mixing materials or finishes can lead to galvanic corrosion and reduced performance over time.
