This 5/8″ 19×19 rotation-resistant wire rope is designed for demanding lifting and hoisting applications where load rotation must be minimized. Featuring a compacted construction and high-strength Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS), this rope delivers increased strength, improved spoolability, and enhanced resistance to crushing and abrasion. Its flexible 19×19 design makes handling easier while providing the rotation resistance needed for single-part and multi-part lifting systems.
Note: Rotation-resistant wire rope should not be used with swivels, as doing so can negatively affect rope performance and service life.
The 19×19 construction utilizes opposing strand lay directions, with inner strands rotating opposite the outer strands to counteract rotational forces while under load. This significantly reduces load spin and makes the rope ideal for lifting unguided loads. As a Category 2 rotation-resistant rope with more than 10 outer strands, it provides greater rotation resistance than Category 3 constructions such as 8×19 wire rope.
The compacted manufacturing process reduces rope diameter while increasing density, resulting in greater strength, improved abrasion resistance, enhanced crushing resistance, and better drum spooling characteristics compared to non-compacted ropes of the same diameter.
This wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade (Extra Improved Plow Steel) steel. EIPS wire rope provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and longer service life under demanding conditions.
The class of this wire rope is 19×19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of 19 outer strands with approximately 15-26 wires per strand. This high strand count contributes to the rope’s flexibility, handling characteristics, and rotation-resistant performance.
This rope features a bright steel finish protected with A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both internal and external wires. The lubricant helps reduce friction between wires while providing basic moisture and corrosion resistance.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) delivers increased strength and support compared to fiber core ropes. IWRC construction improves crushing resistance, maintains rope shape under load, and performs reliably in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
