This 5/8″ 19×7 rotation-resistant wire rope is engineered to minimize load rotation during lifting and hoisting operations. Featuring a high-strength Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) construction and a specialized multi-strand design, this rope helps prevent spinning under load, making it an excellent choice for cranes, hoists, and other applications involving unguided loads. Its flexible construction also allows for easier handling and installation compared to many traditional wire rope designs.
Note: Rotation-resistant wire rope should not be used with swivels, as doing so can negatively affect rope performance and service life.
The 19×7 construction utilizes strands laid in opposing directions, allowing the inner strands to counteract the rotational forces generated by the outer strands when under load. This design significantly reduces load spin and improves control when lifting unguided loads with a single-part line.
As a Category 2 rotation-resistant wire rope, the 19×7 construction features more than 10 outer strands, providing substantially greater resistance to rotation than Category 3 constructions such as 8×19 wire rope. Its high strand count also improves flexibility and handling characteristics, making installation and operation easier.
This wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade (Extra Improved Plow Steel) steel. EIPS offers approximately 10% greater tensile strength than IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and dependable performance in demanding lifting environments.
The class of this wire rope is 19×7. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of 19 strands with approximately 3-14 wires per strand. This configuration provides an excellent balance of flexibility, strength, and rotation-resistant performance.
This rope features a bright steel finish protected with A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both internal and external wires. The lubricant reduces internal friction, minimizes wear, and provides basic protection against moisture and corrosion.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides superior support compared to fiber core ropes. IWRC construction increases crush resistance, helps maintain rope shape under load, and performs reliably in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
Yes. If your combined order will exceed the minimum quantity requirement but you need shorter individual lengths, please call our team to place your order. One of our product experts will be happy to assist.
