5/8″ 6×19 Wire Rope Cable | Galvanized

This 5/8″ galvanized wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a versatile 6×19 class construction. Designed to provide an excellent balance of abrasion resistance, strength, and flexibility, this wire rope is ideal for lifting, hoisting, winching, suspension, and general rigging applications. Its galvanized finish provides enhanced corrosion protection, making it well-suited for outdoor and exposed environments.

Corrosion-Resistant Steel Cable for Hoisting, Rigging & Winch Applications

The 6×19 class is one of the most widely used wire rope constructions due to its durability and versatility. Compared to 6×37 wire rope, the 6×19 construction offers greater abrasion resistance when operating over drums, sheaves, and other wear surfaces. While slightly less flexible than a 6×37 rope, it delivers dependable performance in demanding industrial and construction applications.

6×19 Wire Rope Configuration

This wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade (Extra Improved Plow Steel) steel. EIPS wire rope provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and dependable load-handling performance.

The class of this wire rope is 6×19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 15-26 wires within each strand. This design creates an effective balance between flexibility and abrasion resistance.

The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides increased support compared to fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope offers improved crush resistance, better load stability, and reliable performance in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.

Hot Dip Drawn Galvanized Finish

Hot dip drawn galvanization provides superior corrosion protection while maintaining the wire rope’s full strength. Unlike standard galvanization processes that can reduce breaking strength, the drawn galvanizing process preserves the rope’s performance characteristics while adding a durable protective coating.

In addition to corrosion resistance, drawn galvanized wire rope offers improved ductility and durability. The galvanized coating is less likely to crack or flake compared to electro-galvanized alternatives, making it an excellent choice for demanding outdoor and marine-adjacent applications.
