This 7/8″ galvanized wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a durable 6×19 class construction designed for strength, abrasion resistance, and long-term performance. Commonly used for hoisting, suspension systems, winch lines, and general rigging applications, this wire rope offers an excellent balance of durability and flexibility for demanding industrial environments.
The 6×19 class is one of the most versatile wire rope constructions available. It provides greater abrasion resistance than 6×37 wire rope, making it a preferred choice for applications where the rope regularly contacts drums, sheaves, and other surfaces. While not as flexible as a 6×37 construction, it delivers exceptional wear resistance and dependable service life.
The addition of a hot-dip drawn galvanized finish provides enhanced protection against rust and environmental exposure, making this rope well-suited for outdoor, marine-adjacent, and high-moisture environments.
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and reliable performance under heavy loads.
The class of this wire rope is 6×19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 15-26 wires making up each strand. This design offers an ideal balance of flexibility and abrasion resistance for general-purpose applications.
The hot-dip drawn galvanizing process provides superior corrosion resistance while maintaining the rope’s original strength. Unlike traditional galvanizing methods that can reduce breaking strength, the drawn galvanization process preserves performance while improving durability and ductility.
This finish also resists flaking and cracking, helping extend service life in harsh operating environments.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater structural support than fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope offers superior crushing resistance, improved load stability, and dependable operation in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
Yes. If your combined order will exceed the minimum quantity requirement but you need shorter individual lengths, please call our team to place your order. One of our product experts will be happy to assist.
