This 7/8″ bright steel wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a flexible 6×37 class construction. Designed for applications requiring repeated bending and reliable performance, this wire rope is commonly used for hoisting, suspension systems, winch lines, lifting equipment, and general rigging applications where flexibility and fatigue resistance are critical.
The 6×37 class is known for its superior flexibility and fatigue resistance compared to 6×19 wire rope. Its higher wire count allows the rope to bend more easily around sheaves, drums, and pulleys while reducing the likelihood of wire fatigue during repeated movement.
This makes 6×37 wire rope an excellent choice for applications where flexibility and long service life under cyclical loading are more important than maximum abrasion resistance.
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and dependable performance under heavy loads.
The class of this wire rope is 6×37. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 27-49 wires making up each strand. The actual construction supplied is 6×36, which falls within the 6×37 classification and delivers the same flexibility and fatigue-resistant characteristics expected from this class of wire rope.
This wire rope features a bright steel finish protected with an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both internal and external wires. The lubricant helps reduce friction, minimize internal wear, and provide basic resistance against moisture and corrosion.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater structural support than fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope offers enhanced crushing resistance, improved load stability, and dependable performance in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
