This 9/16″ galvanized wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a versatile 6×19 construction that balances abrasion resistance, durability, and flexibility. Commonly used for hoisting, suspension systems, winch lines, lifting equipment, and general rigging applications, this wire rope is well-suited for both indoor and outdoor environments where corrosion protection is important.
The 6×19 class is one of the most popular wire rope constructions for general-purpose use. Compared to 6×37 wire rope, the 6×19 configuration offers greater abrasion resistance, making it ideal for applications where the rope regularly contacts drums, sheaves, and other wear surfaces. While slightly less flexible than 6×37 constructions, it provides excellent durability and service life.
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and dependable load-carrying performance.
The class of this wire rope is 6×19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 15-26 wires making up each strand. This design provides an effective balance of strength, flexibility, and abrasion resistance.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) offers greater support than traditional fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope provides enhanced crushing resistance, improved load stability, and dependable performance in temperatures ranging from -40F to 400F.
This wire rope features a hot-dip drawn galvanized finish that provides superior corrosion resistance compared to bright wire rope. Unlike standard galvanization methods that can reduce breaking strength, the drawn galvanizing process maintains the rope’s original strength while improving durability and service life.
Hot-dip drawn galvanization also enhances ductility and provides a more durable protective coating that resists cracking, flaking, and wear better than electro-galvanized alternatives.
Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
Yes. If your combined order will exceed the minimum quantity requirement but you need shorter individual lengths, please call our team to place your order. One of our product experts will be happy to assist.
