5/16″ x 3-3/16″ Shoulder Lag Eye Bolt – Stainless Steel Type 316

This shoulder lag eye bolt is designed for secure anchoring and lifting in wood applications where through-bolting is not practical. Featuring a lag thread for strong grip and a reinforced shoulder, it supports both vertical and angular loads when properly installed. Constructed from Type 316 stainless steel, it delivers excellent resistance to corrosion in marine and high-moisture environments.

Please Note: Loading at an angle will significantly reduce a bolt’s rated capacity; a 45 degree angle reduces it to just 1/4 of the stated rating. Never load at an angle greater than 45 degrees from the bolt center line.

Stainless Steel Shoulder Lag Eye Bolt Built for Angular Load Strength

When you need a dependable anchor point in thick wood without the need for full pass-through hardware, this shoulder lag eye bolt gets the job done. The shoulder design reinforces the eye and shank, helping resist bending under load, while the lag threads provide strong holding power. Ideal for rigging, marine, and structural tie-down applications where durability matters.

Key Features

  • Type 316 Stainless Steel: Marine-grade material resists corrosion, saltwater, and harsh environments.
  • Shoulder Reinforcement: Designed to handle angular loads while maintaining structural integrity.
  • Lag Thread Design: Provides strong holding power in wood without requiring a nut and washer.
  • Durable Eye Construction: Supports use with rope, chain, and rigging hardware.

Common Applications

  • Marine and dock rigging points
  • Wood beam anchoring
  • Outdoor lifting and tie-down setups
  • Pergola and structural support connections
  • High-moisture or coastal installations

Installation Tips

  • Install into solid wood or structural members for maximum holding strength.
  • Pre-drill pilot holes to reduce splitting and ensure proper alignment.
  • Keep loading angles within recommended limits and never exceed 45 degrees from centerline.
